The Real Peter Mandelson

BBC

Author and journalist Donald McIntyre follows the career of Peter Mandelson, one of the key architects of New Labour. It looks at how Mandelson transformed Labour’s image in the 1980s, his role in the 1994 party leadership contest and his relationships with Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. Among those interviewed are his elder brother Miles and his schoolfriend Steve Howell; Labour’s former leader Neil Kinnock and former General Secretary Tom Sawyer; close friend and author Robert Harris; and retired cabinet secretary Robin Butler.
